Alex has primarily concentrated on FCC within insurance (broking, general, and underwriting) Banking (retail, wholesale, and corporate) and investment management.
Alex's comprehensive career includes advisory services to hedge funds and the funds industry.
He holds an LL.M. in Corporate, Banking, and Finance Law from Fordham University School of Law and a BA in Law and European Studies from the University of Limerick.
Through his years of experience, Alex has developed a strong understanding of UK, EU, US, and individual states' legal and regulatory requirements, including a strong understanding, interpretation and application of FCC-related guidance.
Throughout his career, Alex has collaborated with regional and global banks, Lloyd’s market brokers and underwriters, top-tier law firms, and leading consultancy firms. His past roles have not only focused on day-to-day FCC responsibilities but also included key involvement in strategic reviews and change programs, US Monitorships, S166 investigations, and subsequent remediation work. Notably, Alex was seconded to the FCA Financial Crime Sanctions team for a duration of nine months.
