EBA Opens Consultation on Proposed Regulatory Technical Standards

The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched a consultation on proposed regulatory technical standards (RTS).

 

The consultation comes in response to a call for advice (CfA) from the European Commission and will inform the work of the new EU Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA).

Key focus areas include:

➡️ Standards on the assessment and classification of residual and inherent risk for relevant institutions;

➡️ Standards on the risk assessment used to designate entities for direct supervision;

➡️ Standards focusing on customer due diligence (CDD); and

➡️ Standards on pecuniary sanctions, administrative measures, and penalty payments.

🗓️ Firms have until 6th June 2025 to respond using the designated channels.
