EU Council extends the EU Global Human Rights Sanctions Regime

The Global Human Rights Sanctions Regime allows the EU to target individuals, entities, and bodies – including state and non-state actors – responsible for, involved in, or associated with serious human rights violations and abuses globally.

The sanctions package has been extended for three years until 2026.


Firms should remain aware of the extension and take any appropriate action in following their sanctions compliance requirements.
