FCA's Policy Statement on Cryptoassets

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published its Policy Statement (PS) on financial promotion rules for cryptoassets.

PS23/6 summarises the feedback received by the FCA following industry consultation in January 2022 on cryptoassets and   provides information on:

  • Categorisation of cryptoassets;
  • The consumer journey for investing in cryptoassets;
  • The role of authorised firms communicating and approving cryptoasset financial promotions;
  • The FCA’s approach to registered cryptoasset businesses communicating financial promotions under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 (MLRs); and
  • Cost-benefit analysis (CBA) revisions
