The 2023 Index has found:
- Over 60% of countries scored below 50 out of 100, indicating that they have ‘serious corruption problems’;
- The global average is 43, and the majority of countries have made no progress or declined in the last decade;
- 23 countries fell to their lowest scores to date this year; and
- The United Kingdom is ranked 20th, with a score of 71.
