UKFIU publishes Annual SARs Report for 2023 - 2024

The UK Financial Intelligence Unit published the 2023 – 2024 Annual Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) Report.

 

Key takeaways from the report include:

➡️ SARs submitted to the National Crime Agency rose by 1.5% to 827,048;

➡️ £240.1m were denied as the result of a defence against money laundering request;

➡️ 406 defence against terrorist financing were received, a 19% increase on the previous year; and

➡️ 8 SAR breaches were identified in the period.

✅ Teams responsible for SAR reporting should ensure submissions are comprehensive, accurate, and of high quality to enable decisive action.
