EU Adopts 16th Sanctions Package Against Russia

The EU adopted the 16th package of sanctions against Russia.

 

The new package targets 49 individuals and 35 entities linked to the invasion.

Key individuals and entities sanctions include:

➡️ Companies involved in the production of weapons and equipment for the Russian military;

➡️ Entities transporting Russian oil;

➡️ Entities involved in the circumvention of EU sanctions such as a crypto-currency exchange based in Russia;

➡️ Third parties involved in supporting the Russian war effort;

➡️ Outlets involved in manipulating information in line with Kremlin messaging; and

➡️ Individuals involved in Russian mining and energy, non-government-controlled areas of Ukraine, the deportation of Ukrainian children, and public figures now working for Russia.

✅ Firms should ensure their sanctions screening systems are robust, screening individuals and entities against the latest lists.
